Welcome to the 2012 CTW Cyclocross Series

January 2013

Wow, what a season it’s been!  Thanks to all of our racers, officials, sponsors, hecklers, volunteers, and friends for making it another great season of racing.  This year brought back familiar faces, some of which have been stalwart supporters since our first year in 2009, but we also saw lots of new faces this year, and that makes us feel great about the future of cross and its continued growth.  Everyone take a breath and ready yourselves.  Worlds are coming up the first weekend of February just up the road in Louisville and that’s going to be the CX party of a lifetime!

We hope to see you in Louisville!

Hello CX fans!  We can’t believe that another season is nearing its end, but luckily we have this weekend’s State Championship to finish out on a super high note!  The course will be similar to our December 2 course, but we’re actually taking some twists and turns out from one section (I know………..hard to believe we aren’t ADDING a ton of twists and turns) and adding some length overall.  Expect lap times to be similar to last time, but maybe slightly longer.  We also have our pre-registration up and going at USACycling.org, to get registered early to avoid the day-of upcharge.

We’re also happy to announce that we are giving away all of our remaining prizes this coming Sunday.  To qualify, you have to have volunteered with us this season helping set up a course, break down a course, etc.  If you are working this Saturday on course set up or Sunday for break down, we’ll put your name in the drawing.  And your name goes in the hat for every time you volunteered, so the more you helped the better your chances to win.  Head over to our Facebook page to see the prize list we have on offer.

Have a great rest of the week and we’ll see you this weekend!

We want to remind everyone that we have changed race locations for this coming weekend.  This Sunday’s race will be at Lock 4 Park on the peninsula and will give you an opportunity to preview the State Championship course.  The updated flyer is available on the CTW CX Series page.  We also want to remind everyone that the Series ends this coming Sunday.  Awards will be given to the winners of each Category following the completion of the races.  We also want to remind you to drop by and visit all of our great sponsors and let them know that you appreciate their support.  In case you don’t know who they are, check out our Sponsors page.

We hope that everyone is preparing to have a great turkey day!  We have a very important change in our schedule to announce.  We are moving CTW CX #3 to Lock 4 Park in Gallatin, from its original venue of Two Rivers Park in Nashville.  We apologize for the change and hope that it doesn’t put too much of a crimp in anyone’s plans.  Consider this a preview of the State Championship course.  We’ll see you very soon!

We want to thank everyone for coming out to Cadence Creek Riding Center a couple weeks ago and helping us kick the season off right!  We had a great time seeing everyone and watching the various lines through the mud pit/marsh/swamp.  We thoroughly enjoyed the course and its Belgian-like mud and hope you dug it as well.  We want to thank Thad and Hilary for having us out at their place and letting us race.  We also want to thank all of our sponsors for coming through in a big way as they always do, so jump on over to our Sponsor page and see who all supports your local CX races!

Thanks again and we’ll see you on November 18 in Springfield!

Alright cyclocross fans, it’s time to kick off the Series!  We want to thank all of our sponsors for this year, as they are a crucial part of making this thing happen.  Click on over to our sponsor page and see who is directly supporting your cyclocross addiction.

We are pretty sure that the word has gotten out, but just in case you haven’t heard, MOAB sprung for a flyover for this year’s Series and it’s going to be Superfly!  For anyone that’s raced in Louisville, it’s nearly identical to the Green Monster and it’s rad.  For Sunday’s opening race at Cadence Creek Riding Center, expect a chance of slippery conditions.  We’ll update conditions on Saturday on our Facebook page to let you know which tires you need to run.  And if anyone wants to pitch in and do a little course building on Saturday morning, we’re getting started at 8AM.  It’s going to go quickly and you only get to pre-ride on Saturday if you show up to work.  Bring work gloves, a hammer or small sledge for driving stakes, and we’ll bring the course building supplies.

We also want to remind everyone that the race number(s) that we give you on Sunday is to be used for the ENTIRE Series, as well as the State Champ race on December 16.  If you lose or forget it at subsequent races, we’ll happily give you another one for $5, as those things aren’t cheap.  And one last reminder – if you haven’t looked at the flyer in a couple weeks, take a look before Sunday, as we changed the order around on the schedule for the first three races.  It may take it a minute to open, so be patient.

Thanks so much for your help in making the Series a fun thing and we’ll see you Sunday (or Saturday morning for work).

We’ve been away for FAAAAAAAAR too long and it’s good to be back.  We’ve already been working the CTW Series for a couple of months and are excited to let you know that things are coming together, promising another year of the CTW Series to remember.  We’re aiming for FOUR race days this coming season, likely all on Sunday.  But, we may very well end up delivering FIVE.  We’ll have to see how the schedule firms up.  We’re also excited to announce that of last year’s sponsors that we’ve talked to about the upcoming season, they’re all planning on returning and several in a bigger and better way than last year.  PLUS, we’ve talked to several new sponsors that sound very excited to be a part of the middle TN cyclocross scene.

We’ll be filling you in on more details very soon.  We expect to have our final dates in the coming month or so and to start announcing sponsors in the coming months as well.  Plus we’ll start letting you in on some of the new things that we’re adding this year that we’re really proud to be able to bring to you.

Ride safe and we’ll see you soon!
